Real good overall experience. Impeccably clean place with pleasant view of a nice park across the road. Neat room with comfortable bed and smoke detectors for safety measures. English breakfast, fab food.

The breakfast here is delicious, and it's conveniently located just a stone's throw away from the city center with easy access to other entertainment options.

Very helpful staff, lovely facilities, easy walk into the historic City Centre. Appreciated the onsite bar and the lounge, as we were able to have a couple of local friends stop by for a nightcap. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Very friendly and helpful welcome. Room was clean and extremely comfortable. Good facilities in room with wide selection of TV channels. The 4 poster was great. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food. Waitresses friendly and efficient. Price for such an estabvlishement was good and much more value for money than run of mill hotel chain.

The staff at Ascot House are brilliantly helpful. This is a family run establishment and the commitment to making your stay enjoyable is excellent. Their knowledge of York and its environs is invaluable.

Parking a bit tight for a large car and steep stairs could be difficult for older/disabled guests, but didn't cause us any real problems
